Celebrate a sweet Veterans Day with these Veteran Owned Bakeries in Texas!

This year, Texas is all set to honor the nation’s brave hearts on Veterans Day with plenty of parades and events, all while practising safety rules that have become a standard for some time now. With so many deals and discounts offered by businesses keen to show their appreciation, Veterans Day 2021 is bound to be an exciting one.

Commemorating veterans for their service on the 11th of November is not the only way Texas expresses its support. Several non-profit organizations are dedicated to providing support for Vets who return from the battleground. One such incredible organization is the Farmer Veteran Coalition, which helps vets begin and sustain their farming journey. Read more about the Farmer Veteran Coalition here.

But farming isn’t the only profession veterans are great at. Cooking, and baking, in particular, is something that comes to many veterans naturally. They find the whole science of creating delicious foods therapeutic and something to connect over. So what better way to mark Veterans Day than to showcase these dedicated servicemen and women who continue to bring joy to our lives by the mouth-watering baked goodies they create!

JM Artisan Baked Goods, Bandera

JM Artisan Baked Goods is a veteran-owned and operated company that makes homemade baked goods from scratch. Owner James decided to bring all the delicious pastries and baked goods he mastered from being a Culinary Specialist for fourteen years in the United States Navy to Bandera, where he now calls home. His specialty includes a bacon (how long does bacon last?) cranberry bread pudding, with a Southern bourbon sauce that’s too delicious for words; alongside chocolate chip peanut butter and bacon cookies to compliment his super-sized kolaches and chocolate chip biscotti! The blueberry muffin is the highlight of JM Artisan Baked Goods. With an explosion of fresh blueberries (how long do blueberries last?) in every bite and a sugary-cinnamon crumb topping that can only be described as heavenly, there is no better way to start your morning. Order yours today, here!

You will also be impressed with unique jams that are a special offering of OMGoodness Homestead. They also have homemade granola (how long does granola last?) that is a perfect substitute for the sugary ones you find at stores. So this Veterans Day, make sure to try OMGoodness Homestead goodies here!

Sugar Stax, Sherman

Sugar Stax is a veteran-owned confection business that operates under the Texas Cottage Food Law. It specializes in homemade marshmallows, (how long do marshmallows last?) caramel sauces, pralines, caramel popcorn, (how long does popcorn last?) and more. In addition, they also make pies with flavors like apricot, apple, cherry, strawberry, and so on. What’s more, Sugar Stax will be at the Downtown Holiday Market on the 27th of November. So, head on down there and get your holiday goodies sorted!

Victory Pie Company, Magnolia

Victory Pie Company, Magnolia

In loving memory of her brother, owner Sheila Blue found her passion in helping out other veterans, and the widows and orphans left behind by their loved ones on duty. “Every Veterans Day, we reach out and thank veterans who we know for their service. I have generations of family who have served, and I understand the sacrifices made so that I have the freedoms I have and can give back in the way that I do”, says Sheila.

Victory Pie Company offers a military discount all year round and gives back a portion of all profits to organizations benefiting veterans and their families.

The menu at Victory Pie Company boasts a full breakfast and lunch lineup, a whole coffee and tea bar, including milkshakes and Italian sodas, and fresh pies ready to be eaten at their café or for pick up. And the most important thing, a portion of the profits go to various veterans’ organizations like EOD Warrior’s Foundation, Snowball Express, and Camp Hope. This Veterans Day, all veterans get a free coffee, with or without a purchase, at Victory Pie Company.

Infuse Me Cupcakes, Hurst

This veteran-owned, home-based bakery has a special treat hidden in its cupcakes! Alcohol-infusions post-baking is what makes Infuse Me Cupcakes stand out. With flavors such as bourbon pecan pie, margarita, almond amaretto, and tequila rose, who can say no! Of course, they have several no-alcohol cakes and treats as well. Every cupcake and cake is made from scratch (no box mixes ever), and they only use the finest Belgian chocolate. So for this year's cake needs, do go try out this veteran-owned bakery in Hurst!
